darkening is seen in observations of all planets that have an atmosphere.
SaturnΓÇÖs famous rings also have a distinctive appearance in radio wavelengths: outside SaturnΓÇÖs disk they show up clearly, but crossing in front of the planet they look more like a dark band. In visible light, the rings look equally bright all the way around.
